Mission and Vision
The main objectives of the Image Processing and Vision Modeling (PIMOD) Group are the study and new developments at the convergence of signal, image processing and biological inspired visual models. Work involves theoretical studies and complementary psychophysical evaluation with human observers. Currently the theoretical effort is concentrated on two broad groups of studies. The first set is concerned with the study and analysis of the visual models, with special emphasis on the roles of joint, wavelet and sparse representations in visual information processing. The second set of studies focuses on image processing applications, in particular image fusion, microscopy, deconvolution, superresolution and 3D imaging.
